UP launches ₹150-cr Vindhyachal road corridor

UP road corridor project
After Kashi Vishwanath, the Uttar Pradesh Government is building a similar corridor in the famous Vindhyachal temple at Mirzapur involving an investment of ₹150 crore. The Union home minister has laid the foundation for the Vindhyachal corridor in Mirzapur. A ropeway has also been started for devotees to reach the temple complex and the government is currently working on several such projects in the religious cities of Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mathura, Chitrakoot and Mirzapur. Commissioner of Mirzapur, Yogeshwar Ram Mishra, informed that the proposed corridor at Vindhyachal will ease the access to the Devi temple from the road alongside river Ganga. Under this project, the state government would construct guesthouses, dining halls and medical centres on international standards. The road leading to the temple would be widened and all the encroachment along the way will be removed. On the lines of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi, the state government would provide compensation to those whose houses and land is to be acquired for the road widening work.
