UP approves ₹486-cr for Jewar airport link road

UP government has sanctioned ₹486 crore to acquire land and build a portion of a 30km road stretch linking the Jewar airport in Noida with the Delhi-Mumbai expressway at Ballabhgarh in Haryana. Of the 30km road, only about 8.5km falls in UP while the remaining portion falls in Haryana. The government has sanctioned the amount to acquire about 90 hectares for the road in its jurisdiction and also to build an interchange near the Yamuna Expressway and bear 50% of the cost of construction of the link. The Centre will bear the cost of the road that falls in Haryana and the funds from UP will be routed through the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), which will hand it over to the district administration for acquiring the land, which will finally be handed over to the National Highways Authority of India, which is building the link road.
