PMC approves ₹391-cr road projects

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved and finalized the work on five roads costing ₹391.7 crore in the first phase of the project. The civic body's standing committee also gave its approval to appoint a consultant for building roads and flyovers on a public-private partnership model. Chairperson of the Standing Committee, Hemant Rasane, informed that these facilities will be developed using credit notes without spending cash from civic body's coffers. The five roads for which the development plan was approved includes the ring road near Ahmednagar road to Lohegaon to Pimpri Chinchwad (₹215 crore), Gangadham Chowk to Shantrunjay Mandir to Kondhwa (₹136 crore), a road near Baner hill (₹18.7 crore), SusBaner-Mhalunge fringe road (₹13.5 crore) and Baner road near the national highway (₹8.5 crore).
