NHAI sets up road safety committee to inspect Bengaluru-Mysuru highway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken a significant step towards promoting safe travel on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Access Controlled Highway. NHAI constituted a committee of Road Safety Experts to conduct safety inspections on the corridor, ensuring its continued service to the people of Karnataka. The 118 km long highway, which opened in March 2023, not only connects Bengaluru and Mysuru but also provides crucial inter-state connectivity to Tamil Nadu and Kerala. By employing state-of-the-art technologies, NHAI has successfully reduced travel time between the two cities to just 75 minutes, playing a vital role in boosting commerce and fostering socio-economic development in the region.

The corridor incorporates various infrastructure features, including 4 rail overbridges, 9 major bridges, 40 minor bridges, 89 underpasses and overpasses, and 6 bypasses to ease traffic congestion and facilitate smoother travel for the public. NHAI is committed to ensuring the safety of commuters on National Highways, and the committee is set to submit its report within 10 days after the site visit. This project stands as a testament to India's rapid transformation of road infrastructure and NHAI's dedication to building a world-class National Highway network.
