Over 5,500 km of National High-Speed Corridors Under Construction: Gadkari
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Rajasthan leads the country with 1,340 km of awarded high-speed corridor projects, followed by Punjab (923 km), Andhra Pradesh (893 km), Uttar Pradesh (884 km) and Haryana (839 km).
The government said it has established a multi-level monitoring framework involving project, state and central authorities to regularly review the progress of National Highway projects, including high-speed corridors and Greenfield expressways, in coordination with state governments and other stakeholders.
To accelerate project execution, the ministry has introduced several measures, including digital land acquisition through the Bhoomi Rashi portal, GIS-based land acquisition planning, faster environmental and forest clearances through the revamped Parivesh portal, online approval of railway overbridge and underbridge drawings, and a mechanism for resolving project bottlenecks.
The initiatives are aimed at expediting the completion of high-speed road infrastructure and improving connectivity, logistics efficiency and economic growth across the country.
