NHAI floats tender for ₹364.21-cr bypass road in TN
The National Highways Authority of India has recently floated tenders for the construction of a four-lane wide bypass road to Tiruvallur town, which has been aimed at skipping congested towns like Thanneerkulam, Thozhur, Sevvapet and Veppampattu on the outskirts of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The ₹364.21 crore projects, which will start at Thirupachur and join the Chennai–Tirupati National Highway (NH 205), also involved the construction of two bridges at Pattaraiputhur. The project work is likely to start shortly and will be completed in 24 months. As far as widening of the two-lane Chennai-Tirupati Highway is concerned, it would be taken up shortly after the completion of the bypass road.
