MoRTH plans 35 MMLP on PPP model across the country
The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, informed that his ministry has planned to build 35 Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLP) Projects under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) across the country. The proposed MMLPs are being implemented by MoRTH on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model, and that the bidding documents (The Model Concession Agreement and Request for Proposal) for these MMLPs is currently under finalization stage. Based on the outcome of DPR/Feasibility Studies and approved bidding document, the tender will be invited from companies soon. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) had approved Phase-I of Bharatmala covering 24,800 km of roads under Bharatmala Pariyojana, in addition to 10,000 km of residual NHDP, at a financial outlay of ₹5,35,000 crores. CCEA has also mandated MoRTH to develop Multi-Model Logistics Parks in the country.
