JNPT launches ₹210-cr road in customs-bound area

The JNPT administration has started the construction of a concrete road in the JNPT customs-bound area for enabling smooth movement of vehicular traffic at a cost of ₹210 crores. JNPT chairman Sanjay Seth informed that the tender for the project of concrete road construction has been awarded to Neeraj Cement Structurals Limited. The contractor has to complete this project in 24 months.

The road project will facilitate connectivity, which will play a pivotal for the trading sector by prioritizing rail, road, waterways and airways connectivity, the importers and exporters will benefit from the well-equipped facilities at JNPT. With consistent technology-based advances and multimodal infrastructure development, JNPT will anchor itself as a mega port by the year 2030. JNPT administration has taken coordinated and integrated efforts to provide quality service for container freight services. The 29 processing units to be set up in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is an example to reckon with. Cidco is the concerned authority to resolve the issue.
