Gadkari to inaugurate Rs 1,700-cr Ring Road Project in Karnal

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari
Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, will lay the foundation stone for a significant ring road project worth Rs 1,700 crore in Karnal. The project, part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana by the National Highway Authority of India, entails the construction of a 34-kilometer-long ring road encircling the city.

The proposed ring road will have a width of 60 meters (six lanes) and will traverse through 23 villages surrounding Karnal. It will connect Karnal lake to Meerut road, Kunjpura road, and Indri road, eventually linking with National Highway-44 near Bastara toll plaza. Besides improving connectivity, the project aims to alleviate traffic congestion on NH-44.

Gharaunda MLA Harvinder Kalyan revealed that the project's cost will be shared equally between the state government and the Union government, with each contributing 50 percent. This venture is expected to enhance transportation infrastructure and promote smoother traffic flow in Karnal, benefiting both residents and commuters.
