Delhi-Jaipur highway gets ₹1,000-cr upgrades

The Union Transport Ministry has decided to upgrade the road infrastructure of the Delhi-Jaipur highway involving ₹1,000 crore investment. This is in addition to the already approved flyovers at the Kapriwas, Bilaspur Chowk and Bawal and allied highway upgrades on the NH-8. The newest approvals included the development of a bypass road and an elevated road stretch in Dharuhera and Mansehra respectively. Among others, the newest upgrades also benefit the residents of the surrounding areas and the move will lead to improved connectivity in Haryana and neighboring areas. In totality, NHAI plans to develop 4 flyovers, 5 bridges, 11 bus bays, among others and all these projects will be completed by 2023. The union government, on the other hand, plans to spend ₹459 crore from the allocated funds on the repair and re-carpeting of the Highway for which it has already floated the tender.
