Centre Approves Rs 1,043 Crore for Six Road Projects Covering 194 Km in West Bengal

The Centre has approved Rs 1,042.62 crore for the widening and strengthening of six road projects in West Bengal covering 194.10 km under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme.

The projects are aimed at improving road connectivity across the state, reducing travel time and enhancing road safety. They will also strengthen access to markets, educational institutions and healthcare facilities.

The road upgrades are expected to improve last-mile connectivity, support regional trade and strengthen local economies by facilitating the movement of people and goods. Improved road infrastructure is also expected to create better conditions for economic activity, tourism and overall regional development across West Bengal.
