The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated work on the construction of the Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road entailing an investment of ₹3,096-crore as currently there is no direct motor-able road between Dahisar, Mira Road and Bhayander and commuters traveling on this route take a 10-km long detour through the Western Express Highway (WEH). The project was proposed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) way back in 2016 but remained in limbo to date. In view of the undue delay, the responsibility of this project has been transferred to the BMC recently. According to the preliminary proposal, the road will be 45-meter wide and of the total 4.5 km stretch, 1.5-km will be within the BMC area and 3-km will be within the jurisdiction of the MBMC. After completion of this project the money spent on the construction in the MBMC area will be reimbursed to the BMC by the MMRDA.
