The new airport is expected to reduce the bottleneck at the existing Rajkot airport, which is small and cannot be expanded and that the company will soon complete the procedure and award the project. The company on its part has also confirmed this stating that other companies, which were in the contest included L&T, Afcons, Dilip Buildcon and Gayatri Projects, said official sources, claiming that work on the entire project is to be completed in 30 months from date of issue of letter of award (LoA).
