Railway approves ₹80,000 cr rail line in Telangana

The Centre government has recently approved Kaleshwaram rail project entailing a whopping investment worth ₹80,000 crore, the state CM said elaborating that of the total project cost, the State government had so far invested ₹25,000 crore on creating necessary infrastructure and tied up loans worth ₹22,000 crores. While seeking financial assistance worth ₹20,000 crore from the Central government, he said the railway network in Telangana was below the national average and among the projects the CM brought to Centre‘s notice for early clearances included the completion of the ongoing 151.36 km Manoharabad–Kothapalli line, the 17.6-km Akannapet–Medak line and the 56.25-km Bhadrachalam Road–Sattupalli line. He also sought early action on the pending 219.64-km Kazipet–Vijayawada (3rd line with electrification), the 24.3-km Raghavapuram–Mandamari Patch tripling and the 137-km Armoor– Nirmal–Adilabad rail line.
