Railways Expedites Land Acquisition for Amaravati Railway Line Project

The South Central Railway (SCR) has initiated fast-track land acquisition for the Amaravati railway line, which will connect Yerrupalem in Khammam district to Nambur station in Guntur, passing through Amaravati. Recently cleared by the Union Cabinet, the 57-km railway line is set to enhance connectivity to the capital city with a project cost of Rs 2,245 crore. Nearly 80% of the land needed within Andhra Pradesh is already available through the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), enabling smoother progress in Khammam, NTR, and Guntur districts.
