The Prime Minister's Office has decided to fast track construction on the second bridge across the Brahmani river, said official sources. SAIL has provided ₹98 crore (one third of the cost) to NBCC and remaining funds will be provided shortly, ensuring sufficient fund flow for the projects. NBCC has also floated a tender for construction of the super specialty hospital in the Steel City. Notably, the cost of the projects has been estimated at ₹294.82 crore. Locals have been fighting for the cause of the super-specialty hospital in the Steel City. The bridge project - the second on the Brahmani River - will streamline vehicular traffic besides uplifting the socio economic conditions of the people living there.
