NHAI unveils Rs. 900-cr new corridor

Four Lane Corridor in Kerala
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is all set to float tenders for a detailed project report (DPR) for a new four-lane corridor that will link Kundannoor and Angamaly in Kerala. The 45 km-long corridor, which has been estimated to cost about Rs. 20-cr per km, will also be dotted with service roads as well. The construction of road will help motorists and other road users to avoid traffic bottlenecks on the Edappally-Aroor NH Bypass and the Edappally-Angamaly NH-47 corridor. The firm that will be shortlisted is expected to conduct a survey, suggest an alignment, and submit the DPR within few months, NHAI Kochi Project Director, Chandrasekhara Reddy said, adding that the land acquisition process can begin by the middle of next year.
