To ensure a smooth and safe travel experience for pilgrims during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2025, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) held a high-level review meeting with state officials to assess the preparedness along the 228-km Jammu–Srinagar stretch of NH-44, which forms a key part of the Yatra route.

The meeting focused on critical aspects such as riding surface quality, lane markings, road safety installations, and the deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs) equipped to handle challenges posed by adverse weather conditions like landslides and flash floods.

NHAI Chairman Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav stressed the importance of prioritizing devotee comfort and safety, urging close coordination between NHAI and local authorities. Member (Technical) Shri Alok Deepankar instructed field units to accelerate pending works and ensure robust road infrastructure, safety markings, and readiness of men and machines to respond to emergencies.

As part of its commitment, NHAI facilitated the donation of five ambulances through Quazigund Expressway Pvt. Ltd. to hospitals in Ramban and Anantnag districts. These were flagged off for public service by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Shri Manoj Sinha.

The meeting demonstrated inter-agency collaboration and reaffirmed NHAI’s dedication to ensuring a safe and seamless pilgrimage for thousands of devotees.
