NHAI hastens twin road projects in Bihar

twin road projects
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is all set to launch construction work on Buxar-Patna (NH-30 and NH-84) four- lane project and the nodal road building agency will also expedite the Patna- Gaya-Dobhi four lanes road project. The two projects have been stuck for the past couple of years owing to land acquisition problems. The NHAI has recently released sufficient funds as per Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, which envisages nearly four times compensation to the landowners. Funds have been released for acquisition of 70% of the land required for Buxar-Patna project, whereas, land acquisition is currently in full swing for the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi (NH-83) project. said a senior official, claiming that NHAI has divided the 125km-long project into three parts — Patna to Koilwar, Koilwar to Bhojpur and Bhojpur to Buxar and it has already acquired land for 70 km out of the 126 km-long Patna-Gaya-Dobhi road project.
