Gujarat fixes Rs. 8,812-cr for road infrastructure

Gujarat road infrastructure
The state government in Gujarat has set aside a staggering sum of Rs. 8,812-cr for building various road infrastructure projects across the state. The major chunk of the targeted funds will be utilized for converting 58 roads of 730 km length into four lanes. Apart from this, the government also proposed to build 37 new bridges and 88 Railway Over Bridges (RoBs) and for Ports and Transport department, it allocated Rs. 1,400cr. The targeted funds will cover maritime economy operation and maintenance of ports and Rs.20-cr were allocated to set up Gujarat Maritime University. Among others, Narmada Canal network under the Sardar Sarovar Project, secured Rs.5,100cr.
