MMRDA clears Rs. 259-cr RoB project

Kopri Rail Over Bridge
Ensuring hassle-free movement of vehicular traffic on the Kopri areas of the metropolitan city, the MMRDA recently cleared the Kopri rail over-bridge(RoB) along the Eastern Express Highway and the construction work is all set to start shortly at an investment of Rs. 259cr. The project in question will convert the stretch into an eight-lane road. Currently, the eight lanes from either sides of the highway in Mumbai and Thane converge into four lanes at Kopri rail over-bridge, causing huge traffic snarls, especially during peak hours. After the construction of new lanes on either side of the existing bridge, the old lanes will be reconstructed. The entire project will take around four years for completion, an official spokesperson said.
