Jharkhand plans Rs.1,750-cr roads

The state government in Jharkhand has planned to start 18 road construction projects of Rs.1,750-cr covering 11 districts of the state. To start with, the government has already cleared Rs. 645-cr and initiated work on a new 16.42 km-long ring road in Hazaribag. In addition, it has also approved Rs. 102-cr for the construction of a 47.55 km-long road between Seraikela and Aderdih Milan Chowk in Seraikela-Kharsawan district and also a sum of Rs. 51.60-cr has been approved for the extension of the Ranchi ring road. The road construction department's proposals to reconstruct a 30-km stretch in Pathargama in Godda at a cost of Rs. 87.40-cr with 33.26 km stretch between Uta More and Kanha Chatti in Chatra at an investment of Rs. 56.91-cr has been given a 'go ahead'. Road construction projects of Rs. 180-cr have also been sanctioned for West Singbhum district, while Rs. 100-cr were allotted for the relaying and expansion of several roads in Dhanbad district. For completing the targeted road projects, the state planning-cum-finance department has cleared a proposal to seek a loan of Rs. 788-cr from Nabard for the construction 21 rural roads.
