The Haryana Government has given the go-ahead for the Regional Rapid Transit Systems (RRTS), a high-speed rail network starting from Sarai Kale Khan (SKK) in Delhi to the Haryana-Rajasthan Border near Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behrod (SNB). This mass transportation project will give a new impetus to growth and investment in Gurugram, specifically to South Haryana, said an official spokesperson. The RRTS would run on an elevated section on the Old Delhi road in Gurugram to Lt Atul Kataria Chowk and proceeding to Signature Tower Chowk and then along NH-48 up to Rajiv Chowk. Thereafter, it will move underground beyond Kherki Daula, where it would emerge above the ground up to IMT Manesar. The alignment would move along the National Highway from up to Dharuhera, Rewari and Bawal before entering Rajasthan and ending at Shajahanpur-Nimrana-Behror (SNB). The high-speed rail would command a speed of about 100 kmph and provide a convenient mode of travel for rail users in Haryana and Delhi. The project will be executed by NCR Transport Corporation (NCRTC), a joint venture of the Government of India and the States of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi NCT.
