Govt. finalizes multiple port agreements

In an attempt to further strengthen its position in the port sector, the government has recently concluded multiple agreements with foreign countries for development of ports and allied shipping facilities, minister of state for road transport and highways and Shipping, Mansukh L. Mandaviya said in a statement, elaborating that the country inked these multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with foreign governments in the last couple of years. He further said adding that the MoUs have been concluded with Iran for development of Chabahar Port; with South Korea on co-operation in the fields of maritime transport and logistics; with Jordan on maritime transport including ship building; and also with Spain on cooperation in allied port matters, besides, Cochin Shipyard, Kochi, has also concluded score of agreements for manufacturing of different types of sea vessels.
