DMRC Signs MoU with Monash University for Research in Metro Rail Technology

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Monash University, Australia, through its Institute of Railway Technology (IRT), to collaborate on research and innovation in metro rail systems.
The MoU was signed at Metro Bhawan in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. The partnership aims to advance research in areas such as automated rolling stock, track maintenance, and metro system operations.
As part of the collaboration, exchange programs between DMRC Academy and Monash University may be conducted to facilitate knowledge-sharing and competency building of metro engineers. The DMRC Academy will serve as the training and knowledge partner for these initiatives.
DMRC will identify metro-related studies to be undertaken with IRT under specific contractual agreements. The collaboration is expected to enhance DMRC’s operational efficiency, safety standards, and passenger experience, while promoting technological exchange and innovation.
Monash University's IRT is recognized globally for its expertise in railway engineering and technology research.
