CCI Approves Mahindra & Mahindra's Acquisition of SML Isuzu

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of SML Isuzu Limited by Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, marking a strategic move in the commercial vehicle (CV) segment.

The proposed combination involves the acquisition of SML Isuzu—a company engaged in the manufacture and sale of commercial vehicles—by Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), the flagship company of the Mahindra Group. M&M is a leading Indian conglomerate with diversified operations across automotive, farm equipment, financial services, IT, logistics, real estate, hospitality, aerospace, and alternative energy sectors.

This acquisition is expected to strengthen Mahindra’s footprint in the CV market and enhance its product offerings, leveraging SML Isuzu’s expertise in the segment.
