CPWD sets up cross-country P&D Centres

CPWD
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has set up dedicated Planning and Design Centres across the country. Chief Architect (Planning and Design) will look after the designing work of not only a particular project in the region, but also of the areas under the jurisdictions of concerned regional Additional Director Generals (ADGs). Official sources said that the on-going initiatives are a part of the restructuring exercise within the central government's largest construction agency with about 8,000 engineers on its rolls. Among others, the agency undertakes projects such as erecting fences on the country's international borders and projects in foreign countries which have friendship programs with India.
