Bengaluru Metro Phase 3 Tender Process Begins for JP Nagar–Kempapura Corridor

Namma-Metro
The long-awaited Phase 3 of Namma Metro is finally moving towards execution, with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) preparing to invite tenders for the 28.4 km metro corridor connecting JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura in Hebbal. The Central Government had approved this route nearly a year ago, but tendering was delayed multiple times, drawing criticism from citizens.

According to officials, the delay was due to complex design requirements for a double-decker viaduct that will accommodate both a metro line and a flyover on the same structure. With detailed planning now complete, BMRCL is ready to begin the construction process.

The project will be divided into ten construction packages, covering viaducts, metro stations, and depots. The corridor will pass through major areas including JP Nagar, Kamakya, Kadirenahalli, Hosakerehalli, KHB Colony, Kamakshipalya, Mysuru Road, Nagarabhavi Circle, Papareddypalya, Sumanahalli Cross, Nagashettihalli, and Kempapura.

The line will feature 30 stations and seven interchanges, connecting with existing and upcoming metro lines, significantly improving connectivity across Bengaluru.
