Arunachal Pradesh gets ₹933-cr highway project

The ministry of road, transport & highways (MoRTH) has given financial, administrative and technical sanctions for the two packages of the Itanagar to Banderdewa four-lane highway project involving ₹933 crore investments. These are Package B, from the Jully trijunction (Papu Hapa) to Nirjuli, and Package C, from Nirjuli to Banderdewa, for the former total length of 11 km costing ₹496 crore and Package C involving an investment of ₹437 crore for 7.5 km. Chief Engineer, Highway, Kuru Sera informed that the work on Package A, from Chandranagar to the Jully tri-junction, is in progress and the four-lane road project from Hollongi to Banderdewa is a crucial infrastructure project for the state. The agreement has already been signed for Packages 1, 2 and 4, and the other five packages and the letter of acceptance (LOA) has already been issued. The detailed project report for the Pasighat to Naharlagun stretch has been submitted to the government and a survey is going on for the remaining section. Another road infrastructure project, the frontier highway, which will connect villages located along the international border, is being taken up on a fast-track basis.
