In order to provide quicker transportation facilities to the masses of the region, Airport Authority of India (AAI) has fast tracked the construction of Odisha's second airport at Jharsuguda at an investment of Rs. 200-cr and it would be completed by the middle of 2018, Chairman, Guruprasad Mohapatra said, adding that the work orders have already been cleared for the Rs 140-cr construction works and the remaining works would also be awarded shortly. As a matter of fact, there is no shortage of funds for development of allied infrastructure at the airport site as the concerns like the shifting of power line, providing one dedicated power line to the airport, water supply and road connectivity to the airport, deployment of security forces and fire personnel, forest clearance of balance land, raising of boundary wall and others will be sorted out by the local administration at the earliest.
