SDLG focuses on brand building
Talking to NBM&CW about the business strategy of the company to increase its market share in India, Mr. Sridhar said, "Our aim towards increasing our share in competitive market will be to stabilize and develop our brand. We will also look to strengthening our after sales support, better parts support and operators training both during warranty and post warranty period. The strategies are likely to increase the acceptance of our products."
SDLG has 11 dealers, out of which, two are dedicated to distributing SDLG products. Parts supports to the products are provided through Volvo CE's mother warehouse in Bangalore. SDLG presently has 600 units working in India. He said, "The products are not intended for the premium but for the value segment, whose emphasis is towards getting a reliable product, providing higher uptime, hence product support is quite important for the company."
Mr. Sridhar added, "The reason for Volvo to acquire SDLG brand was to serve the growing mass market. To make the wheel loaders and motor graders well attuned to the Indian requirements, improvisation has been carried out in transmissions, axles to make the equipment deliver high on performance and operator's comfort." Bucket options for the wheel loaders vary from 3 ton – 7 ton with other attachments involving wood grappler, side dump, and fork. The company is looking towards coal, and quarry applications to build up future sales. SDLG's wheel loaders are available in 7-25 Tons.
Informing about the new range of lubricants and oils being launched during the event, he said, "We have over 600 SDLG machines in action on job sites across India and at SDLG, we are strengthening our aftermarket support to give customers the best possible service. Our customers are looking for a brand of lubricants they can trust to help maintain their machine performance. This launch will offer them a complete range of engine, hydraulic and transmission oils that are designed especially for SDLG machines. All SDLG lubricants are certified by us to give complete peace of mind."
