Sandvik Unveils New Small Breakers

Sandvik Unveils New Small Breakers
Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC), the world's leading manufacturer of hydraulic hammers and attachments, recently unveiled three new Small Breaker models: BR555, BR777, and BR999.

Explaining the technical attributes of new breakers, Mr. Raghavan Ramaswamy, Vice President-Construction Segment, SMC said that these models are designed to satisfy the specific demands of rental fleet operators, the 275 kg BR555, 370 kg BR777, and 505 kg BR999 are designed for optimum carrier compatibility and installation flexibility. A flange top-mount for adapter installation, pivoting hose connecting block, reversible manifold, right-or left-hand hose connections, and the ability to accept a wide range of oil flows and pressures allow the new additions to the Sandvik Small breaker range to work with a broad range of carrier makes and models for optimum fleet utilisation.

Every new model follows the proven Constant Blow Energy (CBE) operating principle that ensures maximum impact energy with every blow for maximum productivity and profitability. As a result, the three new units offer enhanced power-to-weight ratios and the highest possible productivity levels.

The new breakers he added are durable and reliable. Each model features a moulded box-type housing that minimises noise and vibration while providing exceptional protection of the power cell. With no tie rods and a single retainer pin, the new BR555, BR777, and BR999 feature fewer parts for easier and reduced maintenance. As an example, maintenance-free, membrane-type accumulators enable continuous operation without recharging while a retainer pin cover and locking system from the Sandvik large breaker range provi- des a long, trouble-free working life.

The durable, low-maintenance characteristics of the new additions to the Sandvik small range are enhanced further by a comprehensive range of genuine Sandvik large diameter tools that provide greater wear and bending resistance, increasing the breaker life span and reducing owning and operating costs still further.

Sandvik Premium Line Breakers backed by Lifetime Warranty
Mr. Ramaswamy announced that Sandvik is supporting its BR2155, BR2577, BR3288 and BR4099 breakers with an unprecedented and free lifetime warranty. This unprecedented warranty sets new standards in the hydraulic breaker customer support field and further reinforces Sandvik’s position as a world-leader and innovator.

The offer of a free, lifetime warranty reflects the faith that Sandvik has in the longevity of its Double Digit breakers which benefit from a number of key features that together make them among the most reliable and durable hydraulic breakers on the market. These include the unique VIDAT (Vibration Dampened Tierods); Ramlube automatic lubrication; impact resistant, large-diameter tools, a highly efficient relief valve, and Idle Blow Protection.

Registration for the warranty is automatic and does not require complicated and inconvenient online registrations. Even the terms and conditions of the warranty are designed for maximum simplicity, requiring only that the breaker is used in accordance with the recommended operator instruction guidelines, utilizes only genuine Sandvik parts, and that it has been serviced properly at prescribed 1,000 hour/one year intervals.

Furthermore, if the breaker is sold, the warranty can be passed to the new owner, providing the conditions of the warranty have been met by the original owner.

Mr. Ramaswamy underlined that the introduction of this new no-quibble, lifetime warranty provides its customers with greater knowledge of their hourly and yearly operating costs and increases the resale value of their Sandvik hammers. Earlier in an exclusive interaction with S.K Khanna, Mr. Ramaswamy said, Mining and construction is expected to dominate infrastructure development in India in the times to come. Infusion of state-of-the-art technology is a must for fast tracking mining operation. Very brisk development on the mining front is expected in the coming years. For an emerging economy like ours, the shaping up of the right policy framework for mining sector is therefore a matter of time. There is a need to be greater standardization in the policies framework, he recom- mended. In India, this sector is looking up. Sandvik Mining and Construction is well equipped to participate in this emerging scenario of mining and construction and partake in the growth process of developing new infrastructure development in India, the company is aiming at. Keeping in mind the prospects of this sector, Sandvik is naturally excited about this development.

Talking about the current market scenario, he said customers as well as market in India today are very well informed about products and services available in the market place and they are also capable of taking right decision in selecting a products and services that can serve them well. Today, the mindset about price as a factor is changing fast. Customers and market are giving more importance to value addition and quality over price. However what is missing is common forum to formulate regulation, monitor adherence to these regulations, so as governance and sound business practices. I think the apex bodies of the industry along with a journal like NBM&CW with its wide circulation should chip in and help industry to sensitize these issues for the larger interest of industry.

Sandvik Mining and Construction in the country is doing good business with state-of-the-art technology equipment and service. The company places great importance on its R&D back up support. Every product manufactured is backed by extensive R&D support application and experience of our authorized dealers, and site service engineers. Sandvik Mining and Construction has a dedicated team of engineers who constantly work on product development and customization. Our select pool of engineers, well trained for their job enable us to design and develop advanced features for the present day marketing needs. As a matter of fact, the development of the new series of breakers is the result of this unique synthesizing of inputs from our customers, engineers and well established market network, he said.

For us at Sandvik Mining and Construction Mr. Ramaswamy underlined, after market is the lifeline of our business. We are not contented with the sale of equipment, we are equally determined towards its life cycle operation. We believe in total partnership with our customers and others who matter viz engineers, dealers, customers so that they are in a position to turnout best results for themselves. Commitment, productivity and full service support is our mainstay.
