PMP Showcases New Back-to-Back Tandem Pump and Other Drive Solutions

PMP
PMP’s new back-to-back tandem pump is essentially a closed-loop pump, primarily designed for soil compactors, tandem rollers, road construction equipment, compact track loaders, and skid steer loaders. What makes this pump unique is its compact design. Instead of a conventional tandem pump with two separate cylinder blocks housed in two different bodies, the design integrates two-cylinder blocks within a single body. As a result, the pump is extremely compact, making it ideal for smaller machines where space constraints are critical.

Another key feature is its high-pressure capability. The pump can operate at up to 500 bar peak pressure, making it a robust and high-performance solution for demanding applications.

“PMP operates exclusively in construction equipment, aerial platforms, and agricultural markets. We do not focus on industrial applications. This allows us to remain deeply specialised and continuously develop products tailored specifically to these segments,” said Federico Ferazzutti, General Manager.

“We describe ourselves as application specialists. We do not see ourselves as pure product sellers; instead, we are solution providers. Our approach is to deliver complete solutions to the construction equipment market, rather than standalone components. We focus on delivering integrated technologies that enhance machine performance and efficiency,” he added.

The company operates across three verticals: mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic. “Our goal is to integrate these three technologies to deliver complete, application-specific solutions for our customers’ machines. We are highly specialised in our field and invest significantly in research and development, allocating nearly 8% of our annual turnover to R&D. In some cases, we even design custom bearings based on specific load and efficiency requirements. We continuously work on improving the internal design of pump components and conduct extensive testing to enhance product efficiency and durability.

The company has taken several steps towards a low-carbon manufacturing process. It carries out extensive in-house machining, with oil consumption a critical area of focus. Its facilities have implemented a complete oil filtration and recycling system, ensuring minimal oil waste, and are equipped with renewable energy solutions, including wind and solar installations, to reduce the environmental footprint.

“We have a dedicated internal team that supports customers from the application design stage through to after-sales service. We are currently expanding our dealer and service network to strengthen our services. This dual strategy ensures close customer collaboration while maintaining strong local service support,” informed Ferazzutti.
