Rekers: “ Our RS generation of Block Machine is well-accepted in the Indian market. This is quite evident with its first sale which will start production in the first half of 2017,” reveals Mr. Ralf Beier, Sales Director, Rekers.

What will be the company’s focus during its participation at bauma Conexpo India 2016?

For more than 60 years, Rekers has been a competent partner to fulfil creative product ideas in concrete. Rekers delivers outstanding tailor-made plants for mass-production of concrete blocks, fly-ash bricks and paving stones, handling equipment for concrete pipe and manhole production as well as for railway sleepers. Complete batching and mixing plants including high-quality overhead traveling skip and concrete distributor systems, value-added secondary processing and various special solutions, for example in aerated concrete, complete the product range. Rekers focus will be to present and promote its entire range of products during bauma Conexpo India.

Kindly highlight the USP of one of your newly introduced products?

A special highlight is our newly developed RS2KV universal block machine, which we first presented at the BAUMA 2016. The launch of this machine has been very successful and the first RS2KV has recently been sold to India and will start production in the first half of 2017.

The unique feature of the RS machine type is that it is turned by 90° to the conveyor, which does not only allow good visibility into the mould during production, but allows for a fast and easy mould change. It also allows the possibility to produce 15 mm thin concrete products, which can, for example, be used as concrete walling slips. This machine design is protected by 4 patents, one of which defines how the mould and the tamper head are guided. Through this unique feature, the tolerance in the products is extremely improved compared to that of conventional block machines.

Higher uptime, low operating cost, strong after-sales service, and spare parts availability have become the key selling points. How is your company strengthening its position in these areas?

Rekers machines are known to be amongst the most reliable in the industry. We focus on achieving a maximum OEE for our customers, i.e. finding the optimum considering production cycle time, plant availability and waste reduction. This is firstly done by the rigid design of our machinery but at the same time, trying to make the equipment as user-friendly as possible. We try to minimise the amount of moving parts, which reduces the wear and tear.

In addition, we are always striving to improve our after-sales service. Our 24 hours service hotline with remote access has contributed largely to assisting customers across the world. Regular maintenance visits and operator training round off our service package. Apart from these, Rekers offers its customers, upgrades of their machinery and plants to improve the performance and ensure that they are running on the latest technology. Since Rekers has a very deep in-house production, we also have control over spare part availability, even for machinery that is over 30 years old. We have a very large stock of spare parts readily available to be sent to the customer and we are continuously evaluating this to ensure that we have the optimum number of spares available.

What is your view on the growth of the CE industry in India?

We are quite optimistic about the developments in India, especially from Rekers’ perspective. With our new RS generation of block machines, we have the right product for the market, and this was quite evident from its first sale in India. We are confident that our customer will be an excellent reference point for us. With the growing requirement for infrastructure products, this will certainly give a positive impetus to our business opportunities in India.
