Marc Bianchi, NLMK India

Mr. Marc Bianchi, Director
Sales & Strategy (Specialty Products)
There is an upward trend in demand from OEMs for specialized steel
In high strength steel, we cater to Construction Equipment, Mining and Mineral Processing Equipment, Cement Equipment, Transportation, and EPC contractors for specific projects. Infact, more and more OEMs are looking for specialized steel. We also provide customized dimensions to customers, for which we work closely with them and offer them the best services.
NLMK has a diversified portfolio of products, with a strong presence in many specialized industries. Because of our international focus, we are obliged to deliver high performance in order to maintain and increase our presence all over the world. Constant controls are, therefore, part of our production process. Moreover, in a country like India, where the definition of requirements is very accurate, we are more likely to fulfill the precise needs of everyone.
R&D is an on-going process at NLMK
Based on market requirement, we upgrade our product basket from time to time in India. The steel that we present to the market is the result of intensive research. Our aim is to provide the highest plate properties in terms of hardness, abrasion resistance, and tensile strength. When the customer buys a Quard or a Quend plate, he benefits directly from a product developed through our expert know-how and our manufacturing processes, which we have developed over the years.

Our Chennai warehouse is a strategic investment
We have two warehouses in India to stock and provide timely supply of parts. This is in line with our Group’s strategy to be near our customers. We would like to be an active participant in India’s growth story. The current scenario is looking very positive, given the government’s various initiatives to develop the country’s infrastructure in a big way.
Our Chennai warehouse is a strategic investment, as the company is keen to expand in India, and our service center is geared up to offer complete solutions to the CE Industry. We will use the Excon platform to share the above information with potential customers.
2017 has been a good year and as per our expectations
While we are in the transit phase of reforms such as demonetization and GST, the CE Industry is looking very positive. Any big reforms need enough time for the complete implications to become visible, and the government is continuously reviewing and keeping all stakeholders in confidence.
