CDE Asia - Manish Bhartia
We prioritize our products’ environmental benefits by integrating sustainability into the product development phase and employing a lifecycle assessment methodology.

CDE Asia - Manish Bhartia, Promoter & Managing Director

Through various initiatives and product design considerations, we are actively adopting technologies and a zero-waste policy in our manufacturing plants that align with India’s climate action strategy and contribute to the country’s efforts in achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

Commitment to sustainability
We have embarked on a comprehensive Carbon Offset program that focuses on reducing our carbon emissions and achieving net-zero by 2030. As part of this program, we will be planting and nurturing 25,000 trees by 2026.

As an ESG-driven organization, our commitment to sustainability is evident in the design of our plants. We prioritize water conservation by ensuring that our plants have the capability to reuse 95% of the water they consume. This significant reduction in water usage not only contributes to resource preservation but also aligns with our goal of minimizing water-related impacts.

Our plants are engineered to emit low noise levels (measuring below 80 dB) making them suitable for installation in habitable areas. There is zero liquid discharge and zero waste generated from the plants. This proactive approach helps minimize the environmental impact associated with waste disposal.

Minimizing resource and energy requirements
At CDE Asia, we have prioritized the development of our flagship product - the Combo mobile sand washing plant - which exemplifies our commitment to green technology. By combining multiple machines into one compact piece of equipment, we have minimized the overall resource and energy requirements of the system. This consolidation reduces the environmental footprint associated with manufacturing, transportation, and operation.

We have invested in capability building to introduce the latest models of Combo. The upgraded version offers enhanced performance with a focus on sustainability. Our commitment to reducing carbon emissions is evident in our transportation practices. By optimizing the design of our Combo platform, we have successfully decreased the number of vehicles required for its transportation. This reduction directly translates into lower CO2 emissions. And the decrease in vehicles has resulted in reduced logistics costs, ensuring cost-effectiveness for our clients.

Our meticulous inventory management system ensures spare parts availability, enhancing efficiency and reducing expedited shipping. This minimizes carbon emissions linked to logistics.

Prioritizing energy efficiency and emission reduction with connected machines
To promote the use of connected machines from a green perspective, the industry can implement various initiatives and strategies. One effective approach is to focus on product design and innovation, ensuring that connected machines are built with sustainability in mind.

Our innovative approach combines customer control with eco-friendly practices. Most of our latest equipment is IoT enabled which gives plant owners the flexibility to manage the operations of their entire fleet from anywhere in the world using their mobile devices. Cloudlink technology allows all our customers to upgrade their existing equipment software and enjoy the benefits of Remote Monitoring.

With a cloud-enabled infrastructure and robust security practices, our clients are equipped to deal with any unprecedented situation. Contact and hassle-free technology will help customers to manage their operations seamlessly, even during challenging times. We have integrated smart technology into our plants, not only to provide real-time data but also to optimize energy consumption. By capturing run-time plant data and presenting it on a personalized dashboard, we enable our customers to make informed decisions that prioritize energy efficiency and emission reduction. This technology allows our clients to actively participate in reducing their carbon footprint, even from remote locations, ensuring that they have access to future-ready, environmentally-conscious solutions.

Initiatives across operations to conserve energy and reducing GHG
As part of our commitment to reducing emissions, our company has implemented various initiatives across our operations. The core philosophy of our products revolves around conserving natural resources, minimizing pollution, and reducing the greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint across the entire product lifecycle. We recognize that decisions made during the product design stage significantly impact its overall environmental footprint. By integrating sustainability into the product development phase and employing a lifecycle assessment methodology, we continually respond to our customers’ needs while prioritizing environmental benefits.

Although our manufacturing operations currently rely on fossil fuel-based grid electricity, we have made the decision to incorporate renewable energy into our energy mix in the near future. Installing rooftop solar panels in our factories will not only reduce our operational footprint but also lead to significant cost savings in a future regulatory environment. Since the fiscal year 2020-21, we have set an annual target to reduce our energy intensity by 5% per year at our operations.

Furthermore, we have taken steps to optimize our energy consumption. Motion sensors have been installed in appropriate areas, and energy-intensive lighting has been replaced with energy-efficient LED lighting at our Head Office. We also conduct awareness sessions to encourage our employees to be more vigilant about energy conservation, both at the office and in their homes.
