bauma CONEXPO INDIA Launching new initiatives to deliver value to attendees
The 4th edition of bauma CONEXPO INDIA is gearing up to introduce many new programs covering important aspects of construction, in partnership with leading industry bodies to create the best knowledge platform for the attendees,” said Bhupinder Singh, CEO, bauma CONEXPO INDIA, in an interview with S.A.Faridi.
As this is fourth edition of bauma CONEXPO INDIA, how do you view the progress made in the last three editions in meeting the show’s objectives?
The scale and offerings at bauma CONEXPO INDIA makes it a unique trade platform. Over the past four editions, we have been able to deliver value to our exhibitors and visitors through our initiatives and in our capacity as a global series of trade fairs. We are introducing ‘Buyer-Seller Forum’ this year, where we will provide a platform for the exhibitors and visitors to interact with each other, and fix their meetings in advance as per their area of interest.
This would mean even higher return on investments (ROI) for our exhibitors and higher return on time invested (ROTI) for our visitors. Apart from this new initiative, there will be the Demo Area, a series of networking conferences, workshops and seminars to satisfy the knowledge hunger of the attendees and emphasize on continued professional development (CPD) of industry professionals.
How does the organizer Messe Muenchen view the Indian market and the challenges here?
Messe Muenchen has a long-term vision for the Indian market which is highly dynamic and has been growing fantastically over the years. We started our India operations in 2007 with one trade show on one sector, and today we have more than ten shows after a decade of operations. This speaks about the potential of the market and high returns on the right investments made. Presence of an unorganized market and too much competition are some of the challenges of the Indian market, however, the potential here is high for construction and various other sectors.
What promotional programmes are being planned to attract more exhibitors and quality visitors from India and abroad?
As a customer-centric company, we focus on the needs of our customers. Our supporting programs and our initiatives are designed to ensure that our visitors achieve maximum satisfaction at the fair. We will be promoting the show via numerous online and offline channels. It is imperative to invest in digital marketing measures to promote the trade fair effectively. We have social media as part of our marketing mix in addition to various other mediums. At the core, we leverage market trends and create meaningful networking platforms in partnership with leading industry bodies, which prove to be attractive for the attendees.
Since the inception of bauma CONEXPO INDIA, we have emphasized on covering key industry trends via conferences and have held networking programs. In the previous edition, we organized several programs to create a comprehensive experience for the attendees.
In 2016, we organized networking meetings for International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and Builders Association of India (BAI). Networking conferences on the topics: ‘Infra Redux—New and Sustainable Horizons’ in partnership with iCEMA and ‘Maximizing CE Sector Opportunities’ jointly with Construction Opportunities, were some of the key highlights. In order to acknowledge the best in the industry, we also organized ‘Construction and Infrastructure Sector Awards’ in the previous edition.
This year, we will continue our engagement with leading industry bodies and partners to create the best knowledge-share platforms for the attendees. A live-demonstration area showcasing machines in operation will be another highlight of the trade show, and will remain a major attraction for visitors. Attendees can look forward to many supporting programs this year, which will cover important aspects of construction and infrastructure sector such as key trends, industry insights and sharing of technical expertise.
Keeping in view the last three quarters of growth in the Indian CE sector, how will the current market scenario contribute to the success of bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2018?
The industry will definitely show positive signs considering various positive announcements on infrastructure and construction industry at the recent Budget. Better days ahead for road construction firms by way of fresh tenders and road projects. Incentives for affordable housing can step up supply, rationalize prices, and lower finance cost can improve project viability. There has been positive development in our show, which ultimately reflects on the positive sentiments of the industry as a whole. We are optimistic about the future of the industry.
