For LiuGong bauma 2010 in Munich was a high point, despite the travel difficulties that many experienced trying to attend the show. LiuGong – in a large tradeshow booth that was its largest presence ever at bauma — displayed its newest lineup of machines designed for the European market, including its wheel loaders, excavators and skid steer. LiuGong has redesigned some of the machines to meet the specific needs of the European market. For example, cabs with more room to accommodate the larger European frame, and components that are easily accessible for easy maintenance. The LiuGong equipment spurred a great deal of interest, primarily to the Europeans who were able to still get to the show. Traffic on LiuGong's booth was light in the first two days, but it began picking up later in the week. LiuGong executives met with several of its dealers from Europe, and also met many who were interested in becoming a LiuGong dealer.
During the show LiuGong held a press conference where company executives announced the formation of LiuGong's new European subsidiary and offices, including a new parts depot in the Netherlands. The executives also announced the company's 2009 year-end financials, noting that LiuGong doubled profits and grew its sales volume to record levels last year.
