On this occasion, Business Secretary Dr. Vince Cable said, "From its base in the UK's industrial heartland, JCB has expanded and invested around the world and is creating jobs and employment globally. Mr. Vipin Sondhi, MD & CEO, JCB India Ltd. expressed his delight at JCB India being the first manufacturer in India to produce and sell 100,000 machines and helping India to meet its ambitious infrastructure development targets. He informed that JCB in India expanded its facility in Ballabhgarh in April last year to make it the largest Backhoe Loader facility in the world. JCB today is the market leader in construction equipment sector in India with over 50% market share.
The backhoe loader will continue to be our flagship product in India. However, there is a focus on complete range of earthmoving and construction equipment that includes excavators, wheel loaders and compaction equipment. JCB's over Rs 750 crore investments in its Pune and Ballabharh plants, positions us very well to take advantage of the ever growing demand for construction equipment in India, added Mr. Sondhi.
In addition to this, JCB has already invested in some of the largest and best Parts, Warehouse and Training centers. He further added that JCB will continue to introduce better technology and India centric products.
JCB India holds a leading position in this country and it is the market leader in the Backhoe Loader segment. Showing its commitment to the Indian market, JCB India is also gaining strength in the Tracked Excavator, Compaction equipment and the Wheeled Loading Shovel segment all over India. Every one out of two construction equipment sold in India is a JCB. The company offers twenty-one different machines in seven product types such as Backhoe Loaders, Loading Shovels, Tracked Excavators, Compactors, Telehandlers, Skid Steer Loaders and Pick and Carry crane.
