Caterpillar launches Excavator & Wheel Loader
Caterpillar introduced Cat®320D2 GC Hydraulic Excavator and the 950L Wheel Loader.
Caterpillar introduced two new products in India in the construction equipment segment during bauma Conexpo India. The new products – Cat®320D2 GC Hydraulic Excavator and 950L Wheel Loader - will add to the company's wide product portfolio in these segments in the Indian market.
The new Cat 320D2 GC Hydraulic Excavator that is being introduced in India will be produced at Caterpillar India's manufacturing facility at Thiruvallur in Tamil Nadu. The product introduction reflects Caterpillar's commitment to the Indian market and the Government of India's 'Make-in-India' program.
The new product offerings are among a select range of Cat products that are showcased at the on-going Bauma Conexpo India at Gugugram, Delhi NCR. The other Cat products on display will include Cat 216B3 Skid Steer Loader, 424B Backhoe Loader, B20 Breaker and 120K2 Motor Grader.
With the Government of India's focus on construction projects especially in the road and highway sectors, it is expected that the introduction of these products will help customers to meet the growing demand, enabling faster and more efficient implementation of their projects.
Commenting on the introduction of new products in the Indian market, Vivekanand Vanmeeganathan, Country Head and Managing Director, Caterpillar India states, "Our strategy in India has always been to grow with the market and this decision about launching new products in the construction sector also follows the recent growth acceleration in these sectors."

The new Cat 320D2 GC hydraulic excavator features a fuel-efficient Cat C4.4 ACERTTM engine and a powerful hydraulic system that uses an energy-saving design for optimum fuel consumption, while its optimized main structures are built to perform flawlessly year after year in construction and other applications.
The 320D2 GC can also be equipped with Cat AccuGrade® Grade Control System options. Its in-cab guidance features allows the operator with real-time bucket tip guidance so as to reach the target depth, grade and slope faster without traditional survey stakes. AccuGrade Grade Control system simplifies digging, improves accuracy, increases productivity, minimizes material usage and lowers operating costs.
Caterpillar is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. It currently has five production facilities spread across Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. These facilities manufacture a wide range of machines and equipment. Besides catering to the Indian market, many of the products manufactured at these facilities are exported to various countries in South-East Asia, Africa, etc.
Product support and maintenance service for all the new products will be provided through the vast support service network of Cat's two dealers in India – GMMCO and TIPL.
