What areas of operation does your company specialize in?
Moglix is an end-to-end, GST-compliant B2B procurement platform that connects merchants and consumers, facilitating seamless business transactions. Through our comprehensive platform, we provide services such as product discovery, price negotiation, logistics, and payment capabilities, leveraging modern tech to transform procurement and supply chains for the manufacturing industry.
With the goal of expanding Indian manufacturers' reach to businesses worldwide, we serve a diverse range of industries, including automotive, chemicals, cement, consumer durables, metals and mining, FMCG, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and even the fashion sector. As the global business landscape constantly undergoes radical shifts and disruptions, we make sure Indian manufacturers are always able to make real-time connections with suppliers and stay competitive.
How do you address challenges that arise in the supply chain industry?
We all know that the world of supply chains and logistics is jam-packed with volatility and disruptions, giving rise to a range of pressing challenges. In 2024, some of the biggest supply chain challenges include lack of visibility, increased scarcity of materials, increased shipping prices, volatile demands, and lack of communication.
To overcome the critical challenges of our modern supply chains, we place immense emphasis on an innovation-driven, tech-first approach. By leveraging key technological solutions, we are able to effortlessly address major obstacles and find growth amidst the disruptions. We leverage features such as advanced analytics, robust data management, and an intuitive e-catalogue-based buying model to effectively manage disruptions such as natural disasters or geopolitical unrests. What’s more, by establishing an effective supply chain network through our connections with leading logistics firms across the globe, we’re able to maintain the flow and quality of supply, which massively boosts overall efficiency and reliability.
How is the company building a skilled pool of workers?
The ongoing skilled labour shortage poses a significant challenge for the global supply chain sector. Particularly in India, with factors such as lack of awareness on certain supply chain jobs and inadequate training opportunities, this problem is even more prominent. To address this obstacle, we’ve made workforce retention our biggest priority, ensuring our skilled workers continue in their positions. Rather than looking for external help or new hires, we focus on building an internal pipeline of talent first. By prioritizing constant upskilling and reskilling to stay relevant in our dynamic supply chain landscape, we make sure we always have the right talent at the right time.
Another major initiative we have implemented has been the adoption of intelligent technologies to deal with the challenge of a lack of skilled workers. By leveraging automation and AI-powered solutions to handle tedious tasks, we have managed to optimize logistics, reducing the need for human intervention and freeing up existing skilled workers to tackle more pressing duties.
Besides these initiatives that focus on immediate results, we’re also constantly taking steps to prepare for the future. We provide internship opportunities for young students entering the supply chain industry, giving them the guidance needed to thrive in this sector. Our leadership team also performs university visits to give the bright minds of tomorrow a glimpse into the supply chain market, shaping them into the perfect candidates to address the industry’s skilled worker shortages.
How is your company working to reduce transportation costs while driving customer satisfaction?
Optimizing India’s supply chains is critical to staying globally competitive. So, we take immense care to ensure every aspect of our logistics and transportation is fully efficient. We leverage supply chain management software to greatly optimize logistics, effectively organizing all the orders and scheduling the deliveries. With our data-driven and tech-led approach, we optimize transportation routes for the most efficient paths, enable agile responses to market conditions, and boost visibility across the supply chain, ultimately lowering costs and driving customer satisfaction. We even handle the lesser-prioritized aspects of logistics, such as packaging with solutions that are lightweight and consume less shelf space, optimizing transportation charges.
We’re also actively strategizing for the most effective methods to improve our last-mile delivery and significantly reduce delivery times. Recently, we launched our next-day delivery service with hopes of redefining India’s industrial supply chains. This service is currently only available across 12 major cities, but we’re hoping to expand it to about 40 cities within the next year, covering over 10,000 (Stock keeping unit) SKUs. Next-day delivery is a major step up from the current norm of 3-4 days, providing major advantages for organizations that depend on prompt delivery of industrial goods.
What are the company’s expansion plans?
In order to achieve significant growth in the near future, our primary focus is on scaling and diversifying. To scale supply chains, we’re aiming to optimize our network designs, carefully strategizing the best configurations for warehouses, distribution centers, and transportation routes.
We’re also looking to further embrace modern solutions such as AI and automation to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility. We are also embracing vendor diversification strategies to open up multiple channels of sourcing and to ensure resources are always available. By focusing on the two key pillars of scaling and diversifying, we intend to go truly global, reaching new markets and enhancing our resilience and adaptability.
The company is looking to expand its next-day delivery services. With this initiative, we hope to create a more resilient supply chain that caters to SMEs requiring urgent equipment and helps businesses react to radical changes.
The B2B e-commerce market is expected to flourish exponentially in the coming years. With the growth of this sector and the emergence of new market segments, we aim to leverage our tech expertise to drive results and adapt to changes.
