World Bank commits $24-bn infra financing

World Bank President David Malpass during his current visit to India has committed that the World Bank will continue to invest in all the on-going 97 projects worth $ 24 billion, with a $6 billion annual lending target for the country. During his meeting with the Prime Minister and Finance Minister he discussed a range of topics, including infrastructure finance across sectors, strengthening of the financial sector, regional connectivity, civil services reforms, and also assured help to the Indian government in building water infrastructure for potable drinking water in both urban and rural heartlands of the country.
