Vuda fast tracks multi-level grade Separator Bridge

In a bid to speed up the project, Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (Vuda) has recently roped in Rites Limited as the project management consultant (PMC) for its ambitious multi-level grade separator (flyover) to be built at a busy NAD junction. The foundation stone has already been laid by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu last year and civil work of the flyover began in April, this year. According a senior Vuda official, the PMC will assist Vuda in construction supervision, quality assurance and auditing of the designs of the flyover. It will also extend its help to the contractor of the project obtaining necessary permissions and approvals. The PMC will remain stationed on the site on a continuous basis and will play the role of a specialist in the execution of the project. The work includes construction of a new rail over bridge, as the flyover needs another ROB to facilitate vehicle landing on the airport side and the Rites a subsidiary of Indian Railways will be very useful in carrying out the challenging jobs of the project
