VMC approves Rs.285 cr road contract

Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC)
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) in a recent development has cleared contracts worth over Rs.285 crore including the construction of longest flyover in the state. The pick of the projects is the 3.5 km long flyover starting from Genda Circle to Manisha Crossroads. This also paves the way for construction work being kicked off as the board has already cleared the in principle budgetary allocation. It may even make its way to the list of projects for which work will be formally launched by the PM very shortly. The proposal of setting up a safari park at Ajwa also cleared by the standing committee of the local body as this project will come up on a public-private partnership (PPP) module. The developer will give a premium of Rs.25 lakh to the civic body every year and will in turn have rights to collect ticket revenue. The premium will be increased by an amount equal to 15% of the base price or 12% of ticket revenue - whichever is higher.
