Nagaland proposes new road projects

The state government in Nagaland has recently proposed to initiate the construction work of four road projects converting them into two lanes as DPRs for these projects are nearing completion. The projects include Longleng-Changtongya road; Mon-Tamlu-Merangkong road; Phek-Pfutsero road; and Zunheboto-Chakhabama road. In this connection the Chief Minister together with empowered officials called on Nitin Gadkari, who extended his full cooperation to launch these projects. In addition to this, the CM also insisted the Transport Ministry to start work on the 4-laning project of Daboka-Dimapur and Kohima-Imphal roads. Considering the progress of Dimapur-Kohima 4-laning of which is currently in full swing, it is important that Daboka-Dimapur and Kohima-Imphal inter-state connectivity projects are vital as their completion will inject big booster to trade and commerce thereby uplifting the socio economic conditions of the region.
