VICAT France launches bulk cement terminal in Mumbai

Kalburgi Cement Company Pvt. Ltd. , a wholly owned subsidiary of VICAT France, has inaugurated 1.2 MTPA bulk cement terminal in Mumbai to cater the cement demand of rapidly growing Mumbai Megalopolis. This terminal is inaugurated by Mr. Guy Sidos, VICATGroup Chairman and CEO in the presence of Mr. Markus Oberle , Chairman-VICAT INDIA and Mr. Anoop Kumar Saxena, CEO-VICAT INDIA. With start of this terminal, Kalburgi Cement company has decided to launch the brand “VICAT”in India. This is flagship brand from France for last several decades in cement. Two products under brand VICAT are launched; VICATOPTIMATE&VICATDURAMATE. VICATlong term strategy in Indian Market is strengthened with the launch of VICAT brand, which is having 200 years trust and legacy in France, in Mumbai. VICATOPTIMATE is a premium quality OPC 53 grade cement from VICAT group with best properties in its grade of cement. This product is manufactured using the best limestone available in Gulbarga cluster with optimum fineness and with low percentage of Alkalies, chlorides, magnesia which ensures better durability of the concrete structures. Due to development of high early compressive strength VICATOPTIMATE provides lesser de- shuttering period, high early compressive strength of concrete and results in saving the cement consumption.

The official statement claimed that VICATOPTIMATE is used in the construction of residential and commercial projects, concrete precast structures, roads and by major RMC manufacturers. This is choice of RMC players and it helps in making highly compressive design from concrete. Another product VICATDURAMATE is premium quality blended cement manufactured by inter grinding high quality clinker and the best quality High Reactive Silica (HRS) which is collected from Electro Static Precipitators (ESP) of power plants. VICATDURAMATE generates reduced heat of hydration with lesser thermal shrinkage cracks. It offers high durability characteristics, particularly in hydraulic structures and marine constructions. VICATDURAMATE has high fineness hence the conrete becomes more cohesive.

This Terminal is 2nd rail based terminal in Mumbai. It has dedicated own wagons , 24 hours loading facility. This is first ever industry to have end-to-end logistic automation. This is ZERO discharge plant (with NO Air & Water polution). It is having dedicated facility of loading bag as well as bulk cement to any part of Mumbai. It is having 1.2 MTPA capacity and it can store upto 12000 Tons cement at any point of time.
