The UP government has decided to start construction of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor at an investment of ₹300 crore, said an official spokesperson. The Prime Minister has already laid the foundation stone of the project. Land acquisition, soil testing and geo-technical investigation procedures have started, said Vishal Singh, CEO of the Kashi Vishwanath special area development authority. As many as 23 old temples found during excavation, have been preserved for darshan by devotees. Once completed, the currently congested Kashi Vishwanath premises will turn into an open and beautiful area with a lot of facilities such as 4 big convention halls, multi-layer toilet facilities, clinic, locker room and a wide passage for darshan, along with security arrangements.
