UP injects ₹250 cr in Jewar airport project

Jewar airport project
In a bid to push the process of the construction of Jewar greenfield airport in Gautam Budh Nagar, the Uttar Pradesh government has recently released the first installment of ₹250 crore to initiate the land acquisition process for the ambitious project, which has been aimed at lessening the air traffic load on the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The state government issued orders stating that the funds have been released following the issuance of land acquisition notification under Section 11 of the Land Acquisition Act. In accordance with the notification, the UP government has released 10% of the total land acquisition cost as the acquisition will be carried out in a time-bound manner to prevent escalation of project cost. For this, UP government has prepared a departmental manual which is to be strictly adhered to by the district administration as well as the civil aviation department.
