NHAI unveils 7.3-km long flyover in TN

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
In order to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic in the city, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated the construction work on the flyover with a length of 7.3 km with three arms. In the project the first arm will enable vehicles to climb up through Gokhale Road and the other two arms on Alagarkoil Road and Melur Road and will serve vehicles coming into the city. The proposed highway on New Natham Road will have three flyovers – three arms of the elevated highway stretching into the city side - for smooth traffic flow on three important junctions. The widened highway, which starts from IOC junction near Vishal de Mall, will follow the existing traffic pattern of one-way and two-way vehicle movement and will serve vehicles coming into the city from the Natham side, Madurai Project Director, NHAI, V. Saravanan said.
