The Uttar Pradesh government in a recent move has released the final installment for 315 incomplete houses, whose construction was started by the previous government under Lohia housing scheme. After coming to power BJP government had discontinued the housing scheme for various reasons. As of now a majority of the beneficiaries are living in makeshift accommodations. Now, the government has released funds for the completion of these houses. Directions have already been issued to complete the homes as quickly as possible. In financial year 2016-17, around 315 families were selected for the scheme in Bijnor and an amount of Rs 3.75 lakh was to be given per family. While they got the first installment for the house, the second installment was lying pending. First installment of Rs 1.35 lakh was released by the government around 11 months ago. The second installment was to be released after the walls of the houses were constructed.
